Based on the principles of Sisterhood, Society, and Remembrance, Sigma Sigma Rho has a goal of creating a meaningful and fulfilling academic and service experience. The sisters of SSR support the philanthropic efforts of Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention. Sigma Sigma Rho made history by being the first sorority on the east coast to be South-Asian-based. However, since its inception, it has become a very diverse group of students.
