Founded as the first women’s fraternity shortly after the Civil War, Kappa Alpha Theta strives to provide the world with first-class, intelligent and good-character women. Through hardships and tribulation, the first women admitted to Indiana Asbury College (now DePauw University) worked hard to create an organization that would allow women striving to gain a higher education have a safe place to do so.
